Following the tragic explosion at the port of Beirut, Lebanon, on 4 August 2020, CEPF is requesting environmental civil society actors in Lebanon to apply for funding to address the immediate impact of this disaster on their infrastructure and operating facilities. These grants are aimed to mitigate the immediate impacts of the disaster, while also building a foundation for the engagement of civil society organizations in planning for relief and reconstruction.
CEPF and BirdLife International, serving as regional implementation team (RIT) for the hotspot, are inviting proposals in the form of letters of inquiry (LOIs) for small grants from non-governmental organizations in Lebanon.

Closing Date: Monday 7 September 2020
Budget: Between US $1,000 and US $7,000 per grant
Theme: Strategic Direction 5: Strengthen the regional conservation community in the hotspot
Eligible activities are limited to:
- The reparation of the applicant’s office / project facilities that were damaged as a result of the disaster in Beirut on 4 August 2020;
- The purchase of project equipment that was damaged to the extent that it is rendered unusable, or destroyed as a result of the disaster in Beirut on 4 August 2020.

Letters of Inquiry can be submitted in English or Arabic.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LOI FORMATS FOR THIS CALL FOR PROPOSALS ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE USUAL LOIs UNDER THE CEPF MEDITERRANEAN SMALL GRANTS PROGRAMME.
