The Lebanese Environmental Forum organized a Webinar titled “Towards the Sustainability of Tourism Resources: Discussing the Draft Laws on Marine Fishing and Integrated Coastal Management.”
This webinar is part of the Marine Protected Areas Network Project, implemented by the Lebanese Environment Forum in collaboration with Balamand University and funded by the European Union Delegation in Lebanon
The seminar featured several experts and specialists. MP Dr. Najat Aoun Saliba, a member of the Parliamentary Environment Committee, discussed the vision for updating the laws on marine fishing and integrated coastal management. Dr. Shadi Mehanna, Director of Rural Development and Agricultural Resources at the Ministry of Agriculture, presented on the development and management of the marine fishing law. Dr. Manal Nader, Director of Environmental Research at the University of Balamand, gave a presentation on the integrated management of the coastal zone. The seminar addressed ways and mechanisms to achieve the sustainability of tourism resources and protect the coastal environment.
